Amazon Apologizes for Orwell Debacle

Last week, Geek Spot reported on a scary incident that happened on some people's Kindles. Amazon removed the books Animal House and 1984 from people who purchased the books from Amazon's online book store. Well, this week Amazon apologized for the mistake. On Thursday, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said this:

"This is an apology for the way we previously handled illegally sold copies of 1984 and other novels on Kindle," he wrote on Amazon's site. "Our 'solution' to the problem was stupid, thoughtless, and painfully out of line with our principles. It is wholly self-inflicted, and we deserve the criticism we've received. We will use the scar tissue from this painful mistake to help make better decisions going forward, ones that match our mission."

We are really glad that Amazon realizes there mistake. This may not seem important, but it really is a big leap forward for businesses that actually care about there customers. *cough* Microsoft *cough* None-the-less, I believe any Kindle or Amazon boycotts resulting from the incident should be disbanded. In other words, we're cool now, Amazon.
